The York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority has approved £350,000 to host the Tour of Britain in 2026 and 2027. Mayor David Skaith confirmed that North Yorkshire will host a full stage of the men’s race in September 2026. This is expected to generate an economic impact of between £2m and £12m for the region through visitor spending and international TV exposure.
