Fire appliances from Richmond alongside colleagues from Darlington Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched following emergency calls reporting a vehicle leaving the carriageway.
Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders confirmed that the driver was already clear of the vehicle and had left the location prior to crew arrival.
Firefighters used specialist equipment to isolate the vehicle's electrical battery and check for fuel leaks, before handing the site over to police crash investigators.
