Upon arrival at the scene on the outskirts of the town, emergency responders discovered a private passenger car completely engulfed in flames, with the heat beginning to threaten nearby dry stone wall lines and roadside hedgerows. Firefighters quickly deployed high-pressure hose reels and specialised breathing apparatus to contain and thoroughly saturate the vehicle, successfully neutralising the blaze before it could trigger a wider countryside wildfire.
