Health chiefs have moved to reassure residents in Reeth that they are doing everything possible to prevent the closure of the Reeth Medical Centre. Following recent staffing shortages and funding concerns that left the village on edge, NHS North Yorkshire has confirmed they are exploring a partnership with a larger practice in Richmond to provide a sustainable long-term "hub and spoke" model. For now, the surgery remains open, but a public meeting is planned for next week to discuss the logistics of maintaining a full-time GP presence in the dale.
