North Yorkshire Police officers were dispatched to Bellerby over the weekend after an iPhone and high-value trade tools were stolen from a work van parked along the main village thoroughfare.
Investigating officers are conducting house-to-house inquiries and examining local CCTV footage recorded along the A684 corridor between Leyburn and Bedale.
Police are urging local tradespeople and farmers to ensure work vehicles are locked securely and to remove all valuable electronic equipment and power tools overnight.
