North Yorkshire Police, operating alongside Park Rangers and local Parking Enforcement Teams, have launched an intensive public safety campaign across National Park hotspots this weekend. Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Paul Crabtree confirmed that heavy seasonal visitor footfall has placed an immense strain on local infrastructure, leading to dangerous parking where tourist cars completely block narrow country lanes and trap vital farm machinery and emergency vehicles. Under the active multi-agency framework, patrols are authorised to initiate immediate enforcement action against obstructing vehicles. Public safety officers are also stationed at popular riversides to warn families about the hidden, deadly hazards of cold-water shock and fast-moving currents.
