North Yorkshire Taxi Fare Review

North Yorkshire Council executive members are set to meet next Tuesday (May 12) to discuss a proposed 5% increase in maximum taxi fares. The move comes as fuel prices remain high ($1.58/L for petrol, $1.91/L for diesel). If approved, standard daytime mileage rates will rise from £2.22 to £2.33. The council argues the hike is necessary to ensure drivers can keep their vehicles on the road safely.
