Officers on proactive patrol noticed an unlocked vehicle containing tools, including hammers, screwdrivers, and part of a rip saw, parked in suspicious circumstances near the local viewing point. Officers tracked the vehicle before executing a tactical stop near Junction 50 of the A1(M).
Following a search of the vehicle and subsequent inquiries, both occupants were arrested in connection with a reported break-in at a nearby licensed pub premises.
Police investigators commended the alert patrol team for uncovering the burglary equipment during routine night checks, with both suspects remaining in custody for questioning today.
