Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority rangers stationed across Wharfedale, Swaledale, and Wensleydale reiterated moorland fire warnings today as dry peat layers remain vulnerable to ignition.
High-visibility signage along popular fell routes continues to inform hikers that open flames and disposable barbecues pose a severe threat to fragile heather habitats and nesting wildlife.
Rangers urged all visitors to respect the Park code and pack disposable litter out of rural valleys.
