North Yorkshire Police, in a direct operational partnership with North Yorkshire Council and the City of York Council, have formally rolled out a major digital evidence upgrade today, Friday, June 12. The freshly activated framework utilises the NICE Investigate secure cloud platform, allowing council security hubs to electronically transfer high-definition CCTV recordings directly to detectives within seconds. The modernisation completely replaces legacy, time-consuming field procedures where local officers had to physically travel to town centres and wait for optical discs to be burned, allowing local field patrols to remain active on the streets during critical investigations.
