Emergency services and mountain rescue volunteers were deployed late yesterday evening after a walking party failed to return from a trek in a remote sector of the National Park. Utilising advanced thermal imaging equipment alongside local tracking knowledge, search teams combed the fells for hours in dropping temperatures. The group was successfully located in the early hours of this morning. They were found to be cold, wet, and thoroughly shaken up, but thankfully sustained no serious injuries and were safely escorted back down the valley.
