More than 300 pupils from across the region have successfully completed the landmark Let's Learn Moor 2026 project, which marked its 10th anniversary this week. Held across managed upland estates in the Yorkshire Dales, the hands-on program introduced children—many of whom had never visited the countryside before—to crucial traditional skills. Working with gamekeepers, sheep farmers, and conservationists, the children tried their hand at dry stone walling, beekeeping, and upland fire prevention, while volunteers from the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team delivered vital safety demonstrations on navigating the fells.
