Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds has formally launched the Farmer Collaboration Fund during her official visit to the showground. The £30 million government scheme is designed to back practical, farmer-led partnerships. Applications will officially open on September 1st. The funding will pay for peer-to-peer learning, local facilitators, and specialist advice on soil and water management. Reynolds emphasised that by working collectively, smallholders across the Dales fells can significantly bring down their daily overhead costs, share heavy machinery, and build much more resilient businesses while actively protecting the natural upland environment.
