Funded by the Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company, work has started on a new timber waiting shelter designed to mimic the Victorian originals. The previous shelter was a modern glass box that had become an eyesore. The new structure will feature local stone foundations and a living "sedum roof" to blend into the surrounding limestone landscape.
