The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has approved consent for a four-home social-rent development in Langthwaite, Arkengarthdale, delivered by North Star Housing Group and the Upper Dales Community Land Trust.
The energy-efficient properties feature air-source heat pumps and solar arrays, with allocations governed by a strict local connection policy prioritising residents who work or raise families in the Upper Dales.
Community leaders praised the scheme, noting that providing affordable housing in remote valleys is vital for sustaining local primary schools and agricultural trades.
