Rescue teams from the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were forced to swap into dynamic medical roles following a serious collision on the trans-Pennine A66 corridor. The incident occurred near the Gilling West junction, leaving two occupants trapped and injured. Firefighters worked to stabilise the casualties and administer first-line trauma care before safely transferring them to the arriving ambulance paramedics.
