The educational video series features active firefighters demonstrating the immediate physical dangers of cold water shock, unseen undercurrents, and sudden depth drops at popular swimming spots along the Swale, Wharfe, and Ure.
Emergency chiefs are advising visitors to enter open water gradually, swim only in safe, supervised areas where possible, and never swim alone.
The public is reminded that if anyone spots a swimmer in difficulty in inland waters, they should call 999 immediately and ask for the Fire Service rather than entering the water themselves.
