A police chase disrupted traffic in Wensleydale yesterday morning. At around 9:50 AM on Friday, officers from North Yorkshire Police’s Richmondshire neighbourhood team spotted a known disqualified driver behind the wheel. When requested to pull over, the motorist accelerated away at high speed through Leyburn. Traffic cops quickly deployed tactical pursuit strategies, positioning a stinger device further down the road to puncture the vehicle's tyres. The driver was safely arrested on the scene without injury and remains in custody facing multiple driving offences.
